YouTuber Łatwogang, after the huge success of the online fundraiser for the Cancer Fighters foundation, during which over 282 million zlotys were raised, has announced a new initiative. This time he plans to cycle across Poland live, with the final destination set for Gdańsk. The goal is to raise 12 million zlotys for the treatment of 8-year-old Max. The start is today at 4:00 PM.
The new campaign aims to support 8-year-old Max, who is battling a severe illness that leads to muscle atrophy. The cost of the boy’s treatment amounts to 12 million zlotys.
— I decided to cycle across all of Poland in one go, and it will all be broadcast live. But that’s not all, because during the entire broadcast we will be raising money for Max, — the YouTuber announced on social media.
The event is scheduled to start on Friday, May 22, at 4:00 PM. Łatwogang will set off from Zakopane and travel north across the country. The entire journey will be streamed live, and fundraising will take place during it.
The climax will be his arrival in Gdańsk — this is where the first stage of the challenge will conclude. However, this will not be the end.
— If we manage to raise these 12 million zlotys before I reach Gdańsk by bike, then upon arrival I will sleep for 8–10 hours, wake up, and immediately ride back — from Gdańsk to Zakopane, — stated the author.
Internet users also note that, considering the success of the previous fundraiser, other cyclists may join Łatwogang along the way. It is possible that this spontaneous initiative will turn into the largest cycling event of its kind in Poland, with Gdańsk becoming its symbolic finale.
