Two alarming messages — about a fire and a person without signs of life — led to an emergency intervention by services in the apartment of the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, in Gdańsk.
The firefighters were the first to arrive at the scene and did not detect any smoke. At the same time, a second message came in — about a person without signs of life. This was reported by the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, Marcin Kerwiński, in the program «Fakty po Faktach,» describing the course of the intervention in the home of President Karol Nawrocki’s family.
The incident occurred on Saturday in Gdańsk. Services were dispatched to the apartment belonging to the Nawrocki family after two false reports: one concerning a fire, the other regarding a threat to the lives of those inside.
According to the minister, «two SMS messages» were received, after which the police, firefighters, and an ambulance crew were sent to the location.
The firefighters, arriving first, did not notice any signs of fire and inspected the apartment from the outside. However, the second message about a possible death prompted the operation leader to decide to force open the door due to the threat to life.
Additional suspicions were raised by the behavior of the intercom: rescuers felt that someone was answering the call and immediately disconnecting. This heightened the sense that something alarming might be happening inside the apartment. Ultimately, following procedures, the services broke the locks and entered.
Kerwiński also emphasized that the apartment belonging to the president’s mother is not officially declared as his permanent residence. Therefore, it is not under the protection of the State Protection Service.
