In Gdynia, a 21-year-old Ukrainian citizen climbed over a fence and attempted to board a ferry. However, he was noticed and detained by security personnel before boarding. A few minutes later, the police arrived and found that the man was wanted and was to serve a prison sentence for drug-related crimes
The incident occurred at the terminal on Polskiej Street in Gdynia. According to the police, the young man illegally entered a secured area by overcoming the fence and headed towards the docking ramp leading to the moored vessel.
Security personnel reacted promptly and stopped him before he could board. Shortly after, a police patrol arrived.
— The police intervened in the situation with the man who entered the ferry terminal area in Gdynia. It turned out that the 21-year-old Ukrainian citizen was wanted by the district court in Wrocław to serve a prison sentence for drug-related crimes, — investigators reported.
After the detention, the man was taken to a police detention center. It is possible that he will face additional charges related to illegal entry into a secured area.
— It is also possible that he will be charged under Article 193 of the Penal Code, which concerns illegal entry onto someone else’s property. This carries a fine, restriction of freedom, or imprisonment for up to one year, — the police clarified.
