The British newspaper The Independent included Sopot in the list of the best European destinations for summer holidays

Sopot has made it onto the list of the best European resorts for a holiday without exhausting heat — according to the British newspaper The Independent. The publication notes that the Polish seaside resort is becoming an increasingly popular alternative to the overheated destinations of Southern Europe.

The publication recommends Sopot to those who want to avoid extreme temperatures and overcrowded beaches in Southern Europe. Journalists highlight that the resort features a wide sandy beach, the longest wooden pier in Europe, a developed spa infrastructure, as well as an active nightlife and numerous atmospheric cafes and restaurants.

A particular advantage is its convenient location in the center of Trójmiasto — from Sopot, it is easy and quick to reach Gdańsk and Gdynia. This makes the resort attractive not only for a full vacation but also for short weekend trips.

According to The Independent, in light of the increasing heatwaves in Southern European countries — such as Greece and Spain — tourists are increasingly choosing cooler destinations in the north of the continent. In this trend, Sopot may establish itself as one of the main summer trends in the upcoming seasons.
