The police in Sopot, while waiting for an ambulance for an injured man, heard a suspicious rustling in his bag. Inside was a cage with a hamster.
During the unusual call in Sopot, the police who arrived to assist the man in need of medical help unexpectedly found themselves as «guardians» of the hamster. The incident occurred on the evening of June 7. At the scene, officers found a man lying on the grass. The police provided first aid and called for an ambulance. The injured man was taken to the hospital.
The hamster was taken to the station, given water and food, and provided with bedding. According to protocol, the animal was handed over to a shelter — in case the owner comes forward. But if not, there’s no need to worry: one of the police officers is already ready to take it home.
The animal is currently under the care of the shelter and is awaiting a possible response from its owner.
