In the center of Gdańsk, one of the largest tram infrastructure repairs of this summer is starting. From June 27, work will begin on the sections Hucisko and Podwale Przedmiejskie, which will change the routes of trams and buses. A free compensation bus will also be launched for passengers.
Starting June 26, information points will be operating in the city where you can get information about new routes, transfers, and travel options.

The Hucisko transport hub is the busiest section of Gdańsk’s tram network. During peak hours, up to 51 trams pass through here per hour, so the infrastructure needs a major upgrade.
During the repairs, specialists will replace:
- tram tracks;
- switches;
- the contact network.
The work will be comprehensive and cover the entire infrastructure of the hub.
In advance, the city has modernized the contact network at the intersection of 3 Maja and Nowe Ogrody streets so that during the closure of Hucisko, this section can accommodate additional tram traffic.
The most intensive work will be carried out during the summer holidays when passenger traffic in the city center is lower. Traffic through Hucisko is planned to resume on August 31.
What will change
- Trams No. 8 and 9 will only run to the Dworzec Główny stop.
- Routes No. 2, 3, 6, 10, 11, 12, and 63 will follow the 3 Maja street after Brama Oliwska and then return to their usual routes.
- Tram No. 10 will detour the closed section via Dworzec PKS and Opera Bałtycka towards Nowy Port.
- Routes No. 4 and 7 will be canceled during the repairs. Their direction will be served by other tram lines.
