Miejski Teatr w Gdyni od 28 czerwca otwiera letnią scenę nad morzem w Orłowie i na pokładzie „Dar Pomorza”

The Miejski Theatre in Gdynia has moved its stage outdoors and aboard the legendary «Dar Pomorza». The main venue will be located on the beach in Orłowo, where performances will take place against the backdrop of the sea from June 28 to August 17.

The season will open with the premiere of «Batory. Transatlantic love story» directed by Michał Walczak. One of Poland’s most renowned playwrights and directors will create a wild journey — with music, absurdity, and the irony of a night flight, where everything can spiral out of control. A story about dreams of distant travels, summer fantasies, and adventures that linger in memory for a long time.

The program also features audience-favorite comedies by Rafał Shumski «Na Ziemię!» and «Na Waleta», as well as the productions «Bóg mordu» and «Osieckiej. Archipelagów» — a perfect choice for summer evenings in Orłowo.

The summer theatre operates in two rhythms. The beach stage leads to Orłowo, while the ship stage is located in the hold of the «Dar Pomorza». In the year of the city’s centenary, the program on the ship takes on special significance: the vessel becomes not just a stage, but a part of Gdynia’s history.

Onboard, performances of «Żeglarz» and «Jądro ciemności» directed by Krzysztof Babicki will take place, as well as «Tango – na pełnym morzu». Krzysztof Babicki has combined the cult play by Sławomir Mrożek with a one-act production, creating a mix of black humor, comedic energy, and vibrant, multi-layered characters.

Family readings prepared by the theatre’s actors will take place on weekends.
