During the Open’er festival in Gdynia, there will be significant changes to traffic organization. The restrictions will affect several key streets, and a special permit system will be introduced for some residents and users of the area.
Restrictions on Zielona Street
The most serious changes will concern Zielona Street. On the section from Polk. Dąbka Street towards the Babie Doły district, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 AM, traffic will be allowed only for local residents and owners of garden plots with special identifiers issued by the organizers
The restrictions will be in effect daily from July 1 to July 4, 2026. At other times — from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM — traffic on the street will remain free and unrestricted.
Changes on Other Streets
Adjustments to the traffic scheme will also affect other areas of the city. In particular, on Janka Wiśniewskiego Street, from the SKM Stocznia station to the Constitution Square, bike lanes will be temporarily disabled. A dedicated lane for city buses with stops will be created in the direction of the city center, and cyclists will also be allowed to use it.
During the festival, taxis will not be able to use the bus lanes on the Kwiatkowskiego overpass, as well as on Kwiatkowskiego Street from Janka Wiśniewskiego Street to Polk. Dąbka Street. Authorities also warn of possible traffic jams on Kwiatkowskiego, Unruga, and Bosmańska streets.
Passes for Access: Where and When to Obtain
To facilitate access on Zielona Street, the organizers recommend obtaining special passes in advance. The document should be placed behind the windshield of the vehicle — this will speed up checks at control points.
Passes will be issued on June 29 and 30, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM and from 2:15 PM to 6:00 PM in the Samolot-Pomnik area in Babie Doły. On festival days (July 1–4), passes can be obtained directly at the control point on Zielona Street — from 1:00 PM to 3:00 AM.
Who Can Obtain an Identifier
A pass is issued after confirming the need to access the restricted area. Any document, letter, invoice, card, or reservation confirming residence, work, or other reasons requiring access to the Zielona Street area during the restrictions will suffice.
Authorities remind that from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM on festival days, a pass is not required, as traffic is not restricted during this period.
The Open’er festival traditionally attracts tens of thousands of visitors, so city services are preparing the infrastructure in advance for increased load and possible transport difficulties.
