In Gdańsk, preparations are underway for the XXVIII International Festival of Street and Open-Air Theatres FETA. From July 9 to 12, the city center and Reagan Park will transform into a living stage: 30 creative groups from Poland and other countries will present their performances. This year's theme is "Wędrówki w czasie" ("Journeys in Time")
The festival will open on July 9 with the play "Stracony sen" by Teatr Ósmego Dnia
Program includes chamber, intimate stories and large-scale productions combining movement theater, new circus, and performance. Some performances focus on themes of old age and memory, the fragility of human experience, and the inevitability of time passing. Other works tackle socially significant topics: migration, identity, and tension in modern society.
A separate block this year will be "Mała FETA" — a program for children and families, which will take place in Reagana Park. Young audiences will enjoy performances by Polish and international groups, including artists from Spain, Italy, and the Czech Republic. Between shows, children can participate in circus workshops.
Traditionally, the FOTO FETA photo contest will take place as part of the festival. The results will be announced on the opening day, July 9th, and the exhibition vernissage will begin at 21:30 at the square near Forum Gdańsk. The winning works will be on display throughout the festival.
