Starting from August 8, significant changes will come into effect at one of Gdańsk's key transport hubs — Hucisko. After several phases of work, traffic for cars will be significantly simplified, and dozens of bus routes will return to their usual patterns
Hucisko will once again be fully passable
Starting Saturday, vehicles will be able to pass through the Hucisko junction in all directions. This should significantly improve the situation for drivers who have faced restrictions and detours in recent weeks.
At the same time, the organization of public transport traffic is changing. From the first morning departures, buses on the previous routes are returning for lines 106, 108, 111, 112, 123, 132, 138, 154, 166, 178, 186, 189, 208, 212, 289, 606 and M32.
The changes will also affect night transport. On the night of August 8 to 9, buses N1, N4, N5, N8, N9, N14, N56, N78, N89, and T8 will return to the previous traffic scheme.
Some stops will remain changed for now
Despite the opening of the hub, passengers should not completely forget about the temporary changes for now
The stop Hucisko 94 on Podwal Grodzki will temporarily continue to serve as the stop Hucisko 03 near the New Town Hall. The location of the stop for buses heading towards Nowe Ogrody will also change.
Therefore, before the trip, passengers should check the current route and the location of stops.
Trams will return later
Work on Hucisko is not yet completed. Although car traffic will be restored, trams will not be running through the junction for now.
The resumption of tram services is expected at the end of August. Until then, passengers will have to use the existing alternatives.
The finishing works on the main junction are also planned to be completed by the end of August. At the same time, they should no longer significantly disrupt vehicle traffic
Until August 15, one of the pedestrian crossings will remain closed — between the city council building and the Polish Scouts park. An alternative route is provided for pedestrians.
