An unusual island has appeared in the Baltic Sea: tourists are debating what it resembles

A small sandy island has formed off the coast of Mikoszewo, near the mouth of the Vistula River. Its unusual shape has already attracted the attention of tourists and social media users.

Some compare the islet to a heart, others see an avocado or a shell in it, while some do not miss the opportunity to joke about its shape. The very appearance of such a sandy formation is quite natural: in this area, waves, ocean currents, and the waters of the Wisła constantly transport sand and other deposits, gradually forming new land areas.

However, enjoying the new island for long may not be possible. The sandy formations in this section of the coast are constantly changing: the island may grow, change shape, connect with the shore, or disappear.

Mikoszewo surprises with its unusual coastal topography once again. Here, sandy shoals and headlands, shaped by sea currents and storms, regularly appear and disappear.
