The Minister of Finance and Economy has decided to extend the reduction of VAT and excise duty on certain types of fuel until May 15. This is part of the state program CPN. Authorities emphasize that this measure is temporary. It is related to the instability in the fuel market due to the conflict in the Middle East and the situation around the Strait of Hormuz.
The VAT rate on gasoline, diesel, and biofuels has been reduced from 23% to 8%. Initially, the regulation was supposed to be in effect until the end of April, but it has now been extended at least until May 15.
The reduction of the fuel excise tax has also been extended until the same date
The current excise duty is at the minimum level allowed in the EU:
— 29 groszy per liter of gasoline
— 28 groszy per liter of diesel
