Residents of Kościerzyna (Pomeranian Voivodeship) organized a charity collection of animal feed in the city center in memory of the tragically deceased deputy Łukasz Litewka. However, during this kind initiative, an unpleasant incident occurred.
On the Market Square in Kościerzyna, residents organized a collection of animal feed. The event started on April 26 and became a joint initiative of local residents who decided to honor the memory of Łukasz Litewka in this way. The collected feed is intended for the animals in the shelter in Kościerzyna.
On Monday, April 27, an outrageous incident occurred during the event.
— At one point, a man approached the collected donations, took a bag of animal feed, and started running away, — reported senior officer Piotr Kwiżyński from the Kościerzyna police.
The organizer of the collection ran after him and simultaneously reported the incident to the police. She managed to detain the perpetrator before the patrol arrived, — added the police representative.
Police established that the offender was a 52-year-old resident of Gdynia. The man was fined, and the stolen feed was returned to the overall collection for needy animals.
Polish deputy Łukasz Litewka often organized and supported aid collections for those in need, including actively helping animals and was a well-known animal rights advocate.
