The story of Franz Neumann is returning to Tricity. Filming of the series «Zatoka szpiegów» has begun in Gdańsk. As a result, unusual decorations can be seen on the streets of Tricity.
«Zatoka szpiegów» is one of the popular projects of TVP. The first season aired during the rule of PiS, and the second was filmed after the political changes. Actor Bartosz Gelner mentioned in the autumn of 2024 that it has become easier to work now: it’s simpler to find locations, and people are more friendly towards the film crew and react calmly to the decorations, including swastikas.
Swastikas have reappeared on the streets of the city. A walk through the Old Town is enough to feel the atmosphere of past decades. In the area of Chlebnicka and Mariacka streets, the film crew is already working and the first decorations have been set up
The plot of the series tells the story of Franz Neumann — a young officer of the Abwehr (German intelligence during World War II). He secretly works for Poland and manipulates high-ranking Reich officials. He also has many romantic relationships
The action of the third season takes place in late summer 1941. It will feature secret weapons, dangerous missions, and new spies.
Over 2 million viewers watched the first season. Later, the audience decreased slightly, but the series still remains one of the most popular in Poland — only behind «M jak miłość» and «Barwy szczęścia».
