In the finale of the TV show «Mam Talent,» an unusual duet from Gdańsk will perform. Elizaveta «Liza» Labunets, a student at the Academy of Physical Education and Sport, will showcase a joint dance with her dog Dina.
Their semifinal performance made a strong impression on both the audience and the jury. The dynamic number set to the iconic song «Barbie Girl» earned the duet the highest number of votes and secured a direct spot in the final. The energy, precision, and unique bond between Liza and Dina made them one of the most talked-about participants of the season.
— Honestly, I didn’t expect this. The casting itself and receiving the «golden button» were already a huge experience for me, so coming in first in the semifinal and advancing to the final still feels unreal, — Liza admits.
Liza has been developing dog dancing for several years — a spectacular discipline that combines dance, elements of training, and creative interaction with the dog. However, at the center of her performances is not just tricks, but above all, the deep connection between human and animal.
Dina, a four-year-old border collie, has been with Liza since she was a puppy. Daily training, hours of joint work, and mutual trust have brought not only stage success but also popularity on social media, where the duet shares behind-the-scenes preparation and everyday life.
Sports have always been an important part of Liza’s life. Before venturing into canine disciplines, she spent many years figure skating and synchronized skating. Her greatest achievement was placing 9th at the World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships. Today, she uses the experience gained on the ice to create vibrant and dynamic performances with Dina.
“You will see us in a completely new light”
According to the AWFiS Gdańsk student, the final performance will be a big surprise for the audience. The duet is preparing a completely new number, different from the previous ones.
— I hope the final will be even more special, despite the very limited preparation time. I can only say that this number will differ from the two previous ones, and you will see us in a completely new light. It will be dynamic, emotional, and at times even a bit funny. The most important thing for me is that people remember us as a cohesive duet that genuinely loves what they do, — says Liza.
She also emphasizes that participating in the program has opened up immense support from people.
— Above all, I saw how many wonderful people are around who support us and genuinely cheer for us. Additionally, I discovered the opportunity to express my creative side through creating performances with Dina. I think this is what I would like to pursue in the future, — she adds.
The finale of the show «Mam Talent» will take place on May 9 at 19:45 on the TVN channel.
