Police in Gdańsk checked taxi drivers: fines reached 16,000 zlotys

The latest checks on taxi drivers in Gdańsk resulted in fines totaling 16,000 zlotys. This is the outcome of a joint operation by the police and the Pomeranian Customs and Tax Office (KAS).

On Friday, May 8, KAS officials, together with the police, conducted a raid near the Gdańsk Main Train Station. The inspection revealed serious violations.

— The officials focused on checking the legality of the transport, the presence of necessary permits for the drivers, their sobriety, as well as the technical condition and mandatory equipment of the vehicles. During the inspection, violations were found with four drivers — they did not keep records of their earnings. Two vehicles also lacked mandatory equipment. As a result, the drivers received fines totaling 16,000 zlotys, — reported junior researcher Aleksandra Filip from the City Police Headquarters in Gdańsk.
