In Gdynia, a Belarusian wanted by Interpol at the request of Minsk has been detained

A citizen of Belarus, who was wanted internationally by Interpol, has been detained in Gdynia. The man did not have the legal right to stay in Poland.

Police officers detained a 46-year-old citizen of Belarus, wanted by Interpol in Minsk. He was illegally residing in Poland and will be handed over to the Border Guard shortly.

The incident occurred at an abandoned building in Gdynia, where the police were called due to a group of people having a barbecue, as well as the behavior of foreign nationals that raised concerns among passersby. At the scene, police officers checked the documents of four men. One of them was unable to present an identification document, so his details were verified against police databases.

During the check, it was revealed that an administrative decision had previously been made regarding the 46-year-old citizen of Belarus, denying him the right to stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland

Additionally, the man was listed in international databases as wanted by Interpol in Minsk (it is unknown whether this is related to political persecution). He was detained for further procedural actions. Soon he will be handed over to the Border Guard, after which he will be expelled from the territory of Poland.
