If funding is secured, a bronze figure will be installed on the waterfront as early as 2027.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although Blofeld is a fictional character, his &#171;connection&#187; to Gdynia appeared in Ian Fleming&#8217;s novels: the author of &#171;Operation Thunderball&#187; indicated that the villain was born here in 1908. This forms the basis of the project idea conceived by a group of Bond fans from Gdynia and Gda\u0144sk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The organizers describe the monument as a new tourist idea for the city. According to them, there is currently no similar monument \u2014 neither to Bond nor to Blofeld \u2014 in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2014 We want this to be a joint project of the residents and everyone who feels connected to Gdynia, \u2014 the initiators note.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project has already received support from the city, which allocated a plot for the installation. However, the production and bronze casting are estimated to cost around 270,000 zlotys and are being financed through public fundraising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sculpture depicts Blofeld in a chair with a cat on his lap \u2014 his signature image.
