What needs to be done and what consequences await those who miss the deadline.<br><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ukrainian citizens, including children, who have received a PESEL number with UKR status based on a declaration of identity, internal passport, ID card, or birth certificate, are required to confirm their data. To do this, they must personally visit any gmina office (urz\u0105d gminy) and present a valid foreign passport by August 31, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ten wym\u00f3g nie dotyczy os\u00f3b, kt\u00f3re ju\u017c dostarczy\u0142y paszport zagraniczny przy ubieganiu si\u0119 o PESEL. W ich przypadku status UKR jest automatycznie przed\u0142u\u017cany, a dodatkowe dzia\u0142ania nie s\u0105 wymagane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"what-will-happen-if-the-data-is-not-confirmed-on-time\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What will happen if the data is not confirmed on time<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From September 1, 2026, the lack of confirmation will lead to the following consequences:<br>\u2014 the UKR status will be changed to NUE in the PESEL register;<br>\u2014 the right to legal stay in Poland based on temporary protection will be lost;<br>\u2014 access to social benefits, including the &#171;800+&#187; allowance, will be terminated;<br>\u2014 a new legal basis will need to be arranged for further stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"additional-rules\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additional rules<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Data update<br><\/strong>Any changes to personal data (e.g., change of surname) or obtaining a new identity document, including the first foreign passport for a child, must be registered at the gmina office to update the data in the PESEL register.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>New registration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Individuals without a PESEL UKR number or who have lost it must contact the gmina office as soon as possible. The application must be submitted in person with a valid foreign passport \u2014 no later than 30 days from the date of entry into Poland.
