The initiative was launched by a Belarusian living in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Like many others, he is waiting for a decision on his residence permit and assumes that the wait may stretch for years. According to him, the problem is not with one specific case, but with the system as a whole: long processing times, stalled cases, complicated procedures, and overloaded offices. Instead of complaints, he decided to propose solutions \u2014 and prepared three documents addressed to different authorities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is this initiative?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is a package of three petitions aimed at simplifying and speeding up the process of legalizing the stay of foreigners in Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1\ufe0f\u20e3 Petition to the Voivode (local level)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It proposes:
\u25aa\ufe0f increasing the number of staff
\u25aa\ufe0f providing transparent statistics on cases
\u25aa\ufe0f monitoring «stalled» applications
\u25aa\ufe0f simplifying the appointment process for biometrics
\u25aa\ufe0f requiring fewer documents that are already in government registers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2\ufe0f\u20e3 Petition to the Sejm (changes to laws)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It proposes:
\u25aa\ufe0f that the absence of biometrics should not delay processing
\u25aa\ufe0f simplifying the process for obtaining repeat residence permits
\u25aa\ufe0f easing procedures for entrepreneurs and specialists
\u25aa\ufe0f creating separate simplifications for children
\u25aa\ufe0f guaranteeing the legality of stay while waiting for a decision<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3\ufe0f\u20e3 Letter to the ministry and UdSC (digitization)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It proposes:
\u25aa\ufe0f merging different government databases
\u25aa\ufe0f reducing manual data entry
\u25aa\ufe0f speeding up case processing
\u25aa\ufe0f developing digital tools for staff
\u25aa\ufe0f considering the use of AI
\u25aa\ufe0f making case status more accessible online<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Signatures are collected online and will be attached to the documents upon submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the list of signatories is not planned to be published publicly \u2014 the data will only be passed to the recipients of the petitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
