The Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, issued a stern warning during the commemorative events at Westerplatte on the occasion of the 87th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II. According to him, the upcoming autumn and winter could be pivotal not only for Ukraine but also for the security of Poland and the entire free world.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, Tusk stated that the lessons of 1939 are gaining new significance today<\/p>\n\n\n\n

«We cannot be left alone again»<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

According to the Prime Minister, Poland must draw a practical lesson from the beginning of World War II \u2014 one cannot rely solely on the heroism of its own soldiers or the promises of allies<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday we must rely on our own strength and real alliances. Not on spells and myths, but on the true strength of the Polish state, its resilience, and the solidarity of allies,\u201d<\/strong> said Tusk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He reminded that in September 1939, the Polish military found themselves in a situation where assistance from allies could not prevent the catastrophe<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tusk called the lesson of Westerplatte simple: Poland must not find itself alone again in the face of aggression.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t need to be a historian to understand who is responsible for the catastrophe of September 1939,\u201d the Prime Minister emphasized, speaking about Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then the head of the Polish government moved on to the current situation in Ukraine<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Tusk, 87 years after the start of World War II, war is once again taking place right at Poland's borders<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeople are dying again by the thousands and hundreds of thousands. People are dying again under bombs. And this is happening very close \u2014 in Ukraine,\u201d<\/strong> he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prime Minister emphasized that Russia remains the aggressor that started the war, and the West's responsibility is to prevent the repetition of past mistakes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe fate of Ukraine is also our fate in the near future,\u201d<\/strong> said Tusk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He assessed the upcoming months with particular seriousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe coming months, this autumn and this winter may be crucial not only for Ukraine’s independence but also for the security of Poland and the entire free world,\u201d<\/strong> the Prime Minister warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Westerplatte, Tusk called on Western countries to maintain unity and continue supporting Ukraine<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe must help Ukraine stand firm. We cannot repeat the mistakes of the past. Munich cannot happen again, the policy of appeasement to evil cannot happen again,\u201d<\/strong> he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poland reports new possible acts of sabotage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Separately, Tusk addressed the issue of Russian provocations and diversions in Europe<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, Poland has already repeatedly become a target of such actions. The Prime Minister stated that just a few dozen hours ago, there were likely new acts of sabotage related to arson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Probably, Tusk was referring to the fire at the company in Skar\u017cysko-Kamienna, which produces components for drones<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Prime Minister, such actions affected not only Poland. He listed Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Romania, Denmark, and Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tusk also mentioned the recent situation in Leipzig and suggested that some provocations may be organized by Russian special services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMaybe Germany, France, and Spain will understand that in the face of evil, no one can remain alone,\u201d<\/strong> said the Polish Prime Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tusk's speech at Westerplatte was not only a tribute to those who died in 1939 but also a political warning: Warsaw considers Russia's war against Ukraine an immediate challenge to European security and urges allies not to wait until the threat approaches their own borders<\/p>\n\n\n\n
