Two 28-year-olds died after a boat capsized on Lake Salino in Wejherowo County on the night from Friday to Saturday. The 33-year-old helmsman, who was found to have a significant amount of alcohol in his system, has already appeared before the prosecutor and has been charged.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred shortly before midnight on Lake Salino in the Gmina Gniewino. Five people ended up in the water: one managed to swim to shore, two were rescued by firefighters, and two others were searched for as part of a rescue operation. Sonar and an underwater drone were used in the area covering about 70 hectares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the rescuers’ efforts, the man and woman, both 28 years old, could not be saved. As previously reported, the man detained immediately after the incident, who, according to the police, was operating the boat, was in a state of severe alcohol intoxication \u2014 over 1.5 per mille. He was placed in a police detention center, where he spent the night from Saturday to Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
