\u201cI\u2019m not persuading anyone to buy, I\u2019m just offering if I see there\u2019s a need,\u201d says a taxi driver from Gda\u0144sk. He is not the only one profiting from the nighttime ban on alcohol sales in the city.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such bans are already in effect in more than 200 municipalities in Poland. In some places, it\u2019s the whole city, in others, only specific districts. Businesses are looking for workarounds. In Szczecin, one store created a \u201ctasting room\u201d behind a curtain, where alcohol can only be consumed on-site. In another, they opened a small \u201cgarden,\u201d which effectively operates as a bar after 11:00 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, demand especially increases on weekends<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another taxi driver confirms: in one night, you can earn from alcohol as much as in two days of driving. According to him, this is common not only in Gda\u0144sk but also in other cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taxi drivers are not afraid of the police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taxi drivers note that after the ban was introduced, the flow of rides to Pruszcz Gda\u0144ski, where there are no restrictions, has increased \u2014 people simply go there to buy alcohol<\/p>\n\n\n\n
