This is the only venomous snake species found in Poland. Due to the season and the fact that Gdynia is surrounded by forests, snakes have been increasingly appearing in urban areas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The animal coordinator at the Gdynia city hall, Agata Grzegorczyk, urges people to report sightings of them in the city<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2014 If a viper is in the forest or on a meadow, it is enough to simply walk around it and not approach. This is its natural habitat, and intervention from services is not required. However, if the snake appears in a public place where many people are present \u2014 such as a playground or on private property \u2014 it is necessary to call the city guard. We have a specialized unit equipped with the tools for the safe capture and relocation of such animals, \u2014 she explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The common viper (zygzakowata) is protected in Poland.
