Cinema at Szekspir: on the roof with a view of Gdańsk

This weekend in Gdańsk, a new season of one of the most atmospheric summer projects starts — Kino na Szekspirowskim. For the 11th time, screenings will take place on the roof of the Teatr Szekspirowski with a view of the old town

The format is inspired by rooftop cinema in New York and remains unique to Poland. The program includes festival hits and winners of the largest film awards

Open House Gdynia 2026

The architecture and city festival that allows you to rediscover Gdynia — from famous modernist buildings to hidden and unusual places. This year, the event is taking place as part of the celebration of the city's 100th anniversary

Guests can look forward to tours of iconic and closed locations, walks through the districts, workshops, and meetings. It will be possible to visit, among others, Dom Rzemiosła, Urząd Miasta Gdyni, Teatr Muzyczny, Akwarium Gdyńskie, as well as private spaces that are usually not accessible to visitors.

The festival opening will feature a concert by the Fried Rice Crew with a mix of electronic music (house, afro, funk, disco)

This weekend is a perfect time to just relax — including taking a break from cooking at home. On Saturday and Sunday, you can spend a lazy morning (and day) at Stocznia Cesarska, where the breakfast fair is returning.

Children’s Day Celebration

This weekend, Tricity will turn into a large festive venue for children and families. In Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Sopot, dozens of events will take place — from festivals and theatrical performances to sports games, workshops, and film screenings. Silent Disco at Olivia Garden

Silent disco in the tropical garden Olivia Garden — a dance party in headphones, where each participant chooses their own music channel. The event takes place among exotic plants, palm trees, and the atmosphere of a real jungle

Tiki-style cocktails, Eastern cuisine dishes, and a dance area among greenery are available on-site. The party format is club-like, but in a more immersive and "quiet" version

Children’s theater performances in the open air

The summer cycle of children’s theater performances in the open air at Oruński Park. The program includes productions from local and guest theaters, classic and modern stories, showcased in different parts of the park: on the meadow, in the amphitheater, and by the gazebo. All performances take place in the green area and are aimed at children and family audiences.

On May 30, the audience will see the performance “Dzielny kapitan Ahab” by the theater “Gdynia Główna”.

Dzień Drona 2026

Bird Picnic 

The educational family festival on Wyspa Sobieszewska, dedicated to nature protection, birds, and the integration of local residents and island guests. The program includes workshops, ornithological walks, competitions, lectures, meetings with writers, activities for children and adults, as well as ecological games and cleanup of the reserve area. Participants can look forward to prizes, commemorative badges, and refreshments.

Exhibition «Obrazy ruchome»

An exhibition of works by Maciej Jarczyński, combining painting, cinema, and music. The exhibition is dedicated to the theme of movement — its visual and artistic representation in different forms

Some of the works are related to the film „Wojna palikowa”, while others have been created for new audiovisual projects. There are also pieces that capture the movement of dance and musical performers.

Latin Festival 

Theatrical and musical festival inspired by Latin American shows — from the Brazilian carnival in Rio to Havana, Cuba. The fifth edition of the event will bring together live music, dance, revues, and samba workshops

The first part of the evening will be dedicated to the Brazilian scene with carnival performances, tributes, and choreographies to Latin American hits. A samba workshop is also planned. The second part will transport the audience to the atmosphere of Havana.

Delfinalia 2026 

A hip-hop and student concert festival that opens the summer season in Gdynia. Two days of music outdoors at Molo Południowe with a view of the sea and the atmosphere of a big summer fest

The program includes performances by popular artists from the Polish scene. On the first day, among others, Kizo, Żabson, and Bambi will perform, and on the second day — PRO8L3M, Guzior, Chivas, and other performers

Picnic of the emergency services

A family picnic in honor of the 100th anniversary of Gdynia, dedicated to the work of the security forces. This is an opportunity to see rescue and military equipment, meet officers, and participate in workshops and educational demonstrations.

The program includes demonstrations of rescue dogs, presentations of equipment, competitions, artistic performances, and a medical examination area. Children and adults will also be able to enjoy musical performances, workshops, competitions with prizes, and the opportunity to try on uniforms.

Mobile Carillon Festival

The cycle of educational concerts of the mobile carillon in Gdańsk. The mobile carillon is a portable instrument with bells mounted on a trailer, allowing concerts to be held in different areas of the city.

Program obejmuje krótkie pokazy narzędzia, mini-wystawę, zagadki dla dzieci oraz prezentacje muzyczne. Odbędą się także koncerty z zaproszonymi muzykami, w tym trębaczami i zespołami, a czasami quizy muzyczne z melodiami z kreskówek.

    Festival of Freedom and Civil Rights 

    A large-scale urban event in Gdańsk dedicated to freedom, human rights, and the anniversary of the first partially free elections on June 4, 1989. The program combines history, public discussions, education, and international meetings

    For several days, there are debates, lectures, exhibitions, meetings with public figures, film screenings, and forums about the future of Europe and civil society. Separate blocks are dedicated to the memory of «Solidarność» and contemporary human rights.

    Hobby Horse Competitions

    Ferris Wheel

    In Gdańsk, on the island of Ołowianka, the AmberSky Ferris wheel has reopened — one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. The updated structure, standing about 60 meters tall, is now open to visitors and has begun operating in a new format

    In Gdańsk, Z Kufra is taking place — a flea market and garage sale where you can buy and sell used, vintage, and unwanted items. The event combines the format of a fair, a flea market, and a local market — here you can find clothing, decor, books, accessories, and many unusual items with a story.

    Free Zumba by the Sea

    At Hevelianum, dzieci są zaproszone na kreatywne warsztaty, gdzie nauka łączy się z zabawą.     Mieczysław Konrad Olszewski («Mieto») is involved in painting, illustration, graphics, and sculpture using ready-made objects. He has also created posters, theater programs, invitations, and set design.

    Summer Ethnographic Fair

    A new season of the fair opens in front of the Oddział Etnografii MNG in Oliwa Park. Here you can find products from folk artisans from Kaszuby, Kociewie, Powiśle, and Żuławy, as well as crafts and artistic works. Demonstrations of traditional crafts and folk art are held. There is regional cuisine.

    Yoga at 100czni

    The seasonal Joga na 100czni is returning. Throughout the season, every Saturday starts with a group workout. Fitness level does not matter — everyone is welcome on the mat. In case of rain, the classes will take place in the covered space of 100czni Inside.

    Free museums in Gdańsk, Sopot, and Gdynia

    In Tricity, many museums can be visited for free on certain days of the week. We have compiled a complete guide (more details) to make it easy to plan your visit and avoid entrance fees.

    Ferry to the Vistula Spit

    Since May 1, the ferry from Gdańsk’s Świbno to Mikoszewo in the Stegna municipality has resumed operations. This is a convenient and quick way to get from Gdańsk towards Krynica Morska, shortening the journey by 23 kilometers.

    From May 1 to September 30, the ferry operates daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Under standard conditions, departures occur every 30 minutes. However, during peak hours, the service switches to continuous operation to transport all interested passengers. The specified time refers to departures from the Świbno side.

    Estimated rates for the 2026 season:
    — passenger car — 30 zł (for locals — 15 zł, passengers included);
    — camper or minibus — 35 zł (for locals — 17.5 zł);
    — motorcycle — 15 zł (for locals — 7.5 zł);
