At the St. Dominic’s Fair in Gdańsk, one of the vendors discovered a completely damaged trading stand in the morning. The goods were destroyed and the tent was damaged. The total loss was estimated by the exhibitor at around 45,000 zlotys.
The incident occurred on the night from Friday to Saturday. The stand of Zdzisław Pechota, which showcases handmade products at the fair, was damaged. Among the items were handmade lamps, including those adorned with amber.
In the morning, the seller discovered that some of the products had been overturned and damaged, and the trading tent itself was destroyed. According to his estimate, the value of the destroyed goods and damaged equipment amounts to approximately 45 thousand zlotys.
The organizers reported a possible hack
After the incident, the organizers of the St. Dominic’s Fair — Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie (MTG) — conducted a site inspection. According to them, traces were found at the stand that may indicate an attempted break-in.

The St. Dominic’s Fair is taking place this year in Gdańsk from July 25 to August 16. It is one of the largest summer events in the city, attracting thousands of visitors and hundreds of vendors, craftsmen, and artists every year.
The incident has once again raised the issue of the safety of retail outlets that are left unattended after the market closes. For small producers, such damage can be particularly serious, as it concerns not only the cost of the equipment itself but also unique handmade products
