In Gdynia, queues formed for the «Lewandowski yacht.» But it turned out that it is not his

All weekend, locals and tourists flocked to the Presidential Marina to see with their own eyes the luxurious catamaran that social media unanimously declared to be Robert Lewandowski’s yacht. There were so many people that queues formed at the pier — everyone wanted to take a photo against the backdrop of the football star’s vessel.

It all started with a short video that went viral on social media: the author claimed that the catamaran in the frame was built for the captain of the Polish national team at the Gdańsk shipyard Sunreef Yachts. The video gained immense popularity in just a few hours, and other portals picked up the news — and people began to flock to Gdynia. However, a fact-check revealed: this is not the yacht.

The confusion did not arise by chance. At the beginning of 2026, Robert Lewandowski indeed became a brand ambassador for Sunreef Yachts and ordered a personalized catamaran of the 80 Sunreef Power NEXT model — with a spacious flybridge, Ocean Lounge relaxation area, and hybrid solar energy technologies. But the construction of this vessel has not yet been completed: the shipyard has not announced anything about the transfer of the catamaran to the owner.

Meanwhile, a completely different catamaran — Art Cat Asante — has been docked at the Presidential Marina all this time, launched by Sunreef Yachts in April of this year. This is not the footballer’s yacht, but an art project: it was created in collaboration with Omenaa Mensah, the OmenaArt Foundation, and the TOP CHARITY initiative. The deck of the vessel serves as a floating gallery featuring works by artists from various countries, and the godmother of the catamaran is Omenaa Mensah herself. A portion of the proceeds from the project goes to charity and educational programs.
