Residents of Gdańsk helped a drunken foreigner lying by the entrance. In response, he began to threaten them with murder

In Gdańsk, a 40-year-old citizen of Ukraine, who was assisted by neighbors, turned out to be a suspect in a criminal case. The man began to threaten people with murder and insult them. He now faces up to five years in prison.

The incident occurred in the Suchanino district. On a hot day, the police received a report about a man lying near one of the residential buildings. Concerned neighbors thought he might be unwell in such weather and called emergency services.

However, even before the police arrived, the residents who woke the man encountered an unexpected reaction: the 40-year-old man began to threaten them with murder.

The neighbors took the threats seriously and contacted the police. Law enforcement identified the man, checked his details, and took him to a social detox center until he was fully sober. The check revealed that he had nearly 3 per mille of alcohol in his system.

Investigators took statements from the victims and questioned witnesses, after which the 40-year-old man was detained. The prosecutor’s office charged him with threats and insults against people based on their national origin. During the investigation, he was placed under police supervision and prohibited from approaching or contacting the victims. For the committed crimes, the man faces up to five years in prison.
