Today, holders of a Polish passport can visit 184 countries and territories without a prior visa or with a visa on arrival. This is one of the best results in the world.
The leader of the ranking remains Singapore — its citizens have access to 192 destinations without a visa. Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates share the second place (188 countries), while Sweden takes third place (187). Afghanistan closes the ranking — its passport allows free entry to only 22 countries.
Over the last 20 years, Poland has significantly strengthened its position. While it was only in 16th place in the first ranking of 2006, it has now risen to sixth. During this time, the number of countries open to holders of Polish passports has increased from approximately 125 to 184.
The authors of the study note that the United Arab Emirates can boast the greatest success. Over two decades, their passport has gained visa-free access to an additional 153 countries — a record in the history of the index
