On August 15, 2026, a naval parade will take place in Gdynia in honor of the Polish Armed Forces Day. More than 20 ships from the Polish Navy and allied countries will sail into the Gdańsk Bay, and military aircraft will fly over the city. We will tell you where the best spots to watch the parade are and what else has been prepared for the residents.
The Day of the Polish Army this year is celebrated on the 106th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw. The main celebrations will take place on August 15 in both Warsaw and Gdynia.
A large military parade will take place on Wisłostrada in the capital, and a naval parade will be held in the Gdańsk Bay. The start is scheduled for around 12:00.
In a special formation across the bay, more than 20 ships of the Polish Navy and allied states will pass. Spectators will be able to see corvettes, frigates, minesweepers, as well as hydrographic and rescue vessels.
The parade will be complemented by performances from naval aviation. A flyover of aircraft and other special aerial vehicles is expected over the bay, including the SAAB 340, which is used for airspace monitoring.
Where to watch the parade in Gdynia
The organizers name Skwer Kościuszki as the best place for observation. It is here that a large military zone will operate on August 15.
For visitors, there will be prepared:
- military equipment exhibition;
- meetings with Polish soldiers;
- performances by military bands;
- the broadcast of the parade from Warsaw and the maritime parade on large screens
- traditional military pea porridge.
Participation in all events is free.
