On Sunday, September 6, the 64th «Bieg Westerplatte» will take place in Gdańsk. About 5,000 people will participate in the 10 km run. Due to the competition, traffic organization in the city will be temporarily changed, and some streets will be closed.
The race is scheduled to start at 10:00 at Westerplatte. Participants will run, among other things, through the tunnel under the Dead Vistula and finish near Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk.
Which streets will be closed
The main restrictions will be in effect from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Traffic will be temporarily closed or restricted on the following sections:
- mjr. Henryka Sucharskiego Street — on the section between Westerplatte and KOR Roundabout
- al. Macieja Płażyńskiego — w kierunku tunelu pod Martwą Wisłą;
- tunnel under the Dead Vistula named after Archbishop Tadeusz Gocłowski — towards Warsaw
- ul. Pokoleń Lechii Gdańsk.
At the same time, traffic on ul. Marynarki Polskiej and al. gen. Józefa Hallera in both directions will be maintained.
Restrictions will be gradually lifted as participants complete the race. Therefore, the time for closing individual sections may differ from what is indicated.
Changes will also affect buses
During the competition, the routes and organization of bus traffic for 106, 122, 149, 158, 606, and 658 will change.

64th «Bieg Westerplatte» is one of the oldest mass 10 km runs in Poland. This year, the organizers expect around 5,000 participants.
