Gdańsk is launching a large-scale program "Summer Action 2026" this summer, during which the city will transform into a large open space for relaxation, learning, and entertainment for two months. Free camps, sports activities, cultural events, urban games, and dozens of festivals have been prepared for children, teenagers, and families
On Saturday, June 27, summer vacation will begin for nearly 73,000 Gdańsk schoolchildren. As emphasized by the city authorities, the goal of the program is to provide children and teenagers with a safe, active, and meaningful rest throughout the summer
The summer program is designed for more than two months. In practice, this means hundreds of events, thousands of places for participants, and the opportunity to enjoy activities almost every day of the vacation
Free School Camps
One of the key elements of the «Summer Action» will be free camps organized in 72 Gdańsk schools. About 780 groups of children will participate in five-day sessions. The program goes far beyond school buildings: children will attend sports, artistic, and theatrical workshops, museums, swimming pools, and other city facilities.
Palace of Youth: Summer Camps and Workshops
The Palace of Youth (Pałac Młodzieży) has prepared a program called «Secrets Hidden in Envelopes.» It will take place in two sessions: from June 29 to July 3 and from July 6 to July 10. Participants will create letters with memories and emotions, which they will send to their addressees at the end of the camp.
Dzieci mogą również liczyć na warsztaty artystyczne, komputerowe i sportowe, gry zespołowe, zajęcia integracyjne oraz wycieczkę autokarową. Przez całe lato Pałac Młodzieży będzie również prowadził bezpłatne zajęcia — taneczne, muzyczne, plastyczne, komputerowe, sportowe i szycia — dla dzieci już od 3. roku życia.
Sporty Summer
Sports will be one of the main elements of the program. Almost every day, there will be activities in team games, beach volleyball, kayaking, SUP boarding, judo, and tennis tournaments
Na początku wakacji "Letnie Miasto" rozpocznie się grami na świeżym powietrzu, lekkoatletyką, zajęciami wodnymi i strefami tematycznymi. Uczestnicy mogą spodziewać się questów, siatkówki plażowej, lekkoatletyki, strefy militarnej, strefy artystycznej oraz zajęć wodnych. Przez całe lato mieszkańcy będą mogli również korzystać z obiektów sportowych w różnych częściach miasta za darmo.

One of the unique projects will be the "Gdańsk School Under Sails." A journey aboard the legendary sailing ship "Generał Zaruski" will allow participants to learn the basics of navigation, meteorology, and maritime safety
Program H2Offline, realizowany przez Akademię Zaruskiego, nauczy pracy zespołowej i ekologii, zachęcając młodzież do spędzania większej ilości czasu poza światem cyfrowym.
Tournaments, Zumba, Tennis, and Judo
Letnie wydarzenia sportowe obejmują również otwarte turnieje siatkówki plażowej na plaży w Brzeźnie, które odbędą się 12 i 26 lipca oraz 9 i 23 sierpnia. Gdański Maraton Zumba zaplanowany jest na 18 lipca, łącząc aktywność fizyczną z rozrywką i integracją uczestników. Program obejmuje także dwa turnieje tenisowe na kortach Sport Park Przymorze oraz zajęcia judo dla dzieci na ulicy Traugutta.
Additionally, the Wybrzeże Sports Academy will implement the "HULAJ Z GŁOWĄ" program, which combines safe riding lessons on bicycles and scooters with physical activity
Cultural Summer in Gdańsk
"Summer Action" to nie tylko sport i obozy. Gdańskie instytucje kultury przygotowały również bardzo rozbudowany program. W praktyce oznacza to koncerty, festiwale, warsztaty, spacery po mieście, wydarzenia edukacyjne, przedstawienia teatralne i imprezy uliczne w całym mieście.
Among the main summer events is the FETA 2026 Festival of Street and Square Theaters, which will take place in Reagan Park and at the Forum Gdańsk shopping center. Theater lovers will also be able to attend the 30th anniversary Shakespeare Festival, while classical music fans can enjoy the 21st International Mozart Festival Mozartiana. Concerts from the «Muzyka w Altanie» cycle will take place in Oliwa Park, and Cappella Gedanensis will invite everyone to another edition of «Letnich Wieczorów u Menonitów.»

The program also includes night walks «Fort at Night,» the cycle «Seeing More from Above,» and Sunday artillery shows with reenactors.
