From August 2 to 8, the fifth Football Film Festival will take place in Gdańsk — a competitive showcase of documentary films about football made by Polish directors. Screenings and the awards ceremony will be held in the square by the Philharmonic on Ołowianka Island. For the third consecutive year, the festival is part of the St. Dominic's Fair program. Admission to all events is free
Organizatorzy wybrali 11 filmów spośród 21 zgłoszonych aplikacji. Do konkursu kwalifikują się prace nakręcone w latach 2023-2026. Jury, składające się z 12 członków, przewodniczy Janusz Basałaj. Komisja ocenia poziom profesjonalny i walory artystyczne filmów.
Nagroda Trojanowskiego nosi imię dziennikarza i wieloletniego doradcy Prezydenta Gdańska ds. sportu, który zmarł 25 stycznia 2024 roku po długiej chorobie. Trojanowski przyczynił się do organizacji dużych wydarzeń sportowych w mieście, w tym Euro 2012, i był członkiem jury dwóch poprzednich edycji festiwalu.
In addition to the competitive screenings, the program includes two sessions of Piłkarskie Kino Letnie: the Spanish film "Duszа drużyny" (2022, dir. Roberto Bueso) and the Polish film "Gwiazdy" (2017, dir. Jan Kidawa-Błoński)
A meeting is also scheduled with Marcin Oleksy, Poland’s representative for amputee football and the winner of the FIFA Puskás Award 2022 for the best goal of the year. A special non-competitive screening will feature the film «Legenda. Hubert Jerzy Wagner».

Sunday, August 2
The festival will open at 5:00 PM. On this day, the films “Niedziela Cudów” (dir. Ksawery Szczepanik) and “Liderzy. W centrum gry: Rifet Kapić” (dir. Maciej Klimek) will be shown. In the evening, viewers can look forward to the screening of the film “Gwiazdy”.
Monday, August 3
On the program — “Klich. Outside the Scheme,” “Dymkowski. The Most Important Match,” and “Champion’s Variant.”
Tuesday, August 4
The films «Trofea» and «Mundial. Teatr Emocji» will be shown.
Wednesday, August 5
The screening of the film «Na pierwszym planie. Dominika Grosicka» will take place.
Thursday, August 6
On the program — “Rzut monetą”. In the evening, the film “Pełna Miłości” will be shown.
Friday, August 7
Audiences can look forward to a meeting with Marcin Oleksy, as well as screenings of the films “Nostalgia” and “Kto wygrał mecz”.
Saturday, August 8
A special screening of the film «Legenda. Hubert Jerzy Wagner» will take place at 3:00 PM. The award ceremony will begin at 4:30 PM, which can also be watched online on YouTube and Facebook. An online festival studio will take place at 6:15 PM.
