Starting today, April 27, 2026, a new MOS 2.0 system for legalizing the stay of foreigners is being launched in Poland. It replaces the old, partially paper-based process, which was complicated, slow, and often relied on intermediaries who took queues and created additional costs.
Now, the application process is almost entirely digital. Applications are submitted through the government portal login.gov.pl with Profil Zaufany, and all documents are uploaded online and signed with an electronic signature. Paper submissions will mostly disappear
However, once the application is submitted, it is no longer possible to make changes or add documents — the system does not allow for editing. If something changes (for example, employment or the basis for stay), the information will need to be sent separately through the electronic system e-Doręczenia or by mail.
Wszystkie oficjalne powiadomienia — prośby o dokumenty, wezwania do biura oraz decyzje — będą wysyłane do skrzynki e-Doręczenia. Jednocześnie obowiązek osobistych wizyt pozostaje, na przykład w celu pobrania odcisków palców i weryfikacji oryginalnych dokumentów.
The familiar stamp in the passport, which previously confirmed legal stay, will also disappear. Instead, there will be a digital document UPO that needs to be downloaded and carried.
W rezultacie oczekuje się, że MOS 2.0 uprości sam proces aplikacji i zmniejszy wpływ pośredników, ale system staje się bardziej rygorystyczny: po złożeniu wniosku wnioskodawca ma mniej możliwości wprowadzenia poprawek. Dodatkowo odpowiedzialność za terminy, dokładność danych i interakcję z pracodawcą w pełni spoczywa na wnioskodawcy.
