Sun Kang, known as Han from the «Fast & Furious» franchise, appeared in Gdańsk during one of the most prestigious car shows in Europe – Ultrace. The actor didn’t just attend the event. He drove through the streets of the city in a red Toyota Corolla AE86, a car that has become a symbol of drift culture in cinema. A video of his appearance quickly spread on TikTok, where fans recognized the familiar character.
The character Han has been beloved by audiences since the cult classic «Tokyo Drift» (2006). Just like his character, Kang is passionate about cars and transitioned to directing in 2022, making his debut as a director.
Ultrace, which took place over the weekend, remains one of the most unusual car gatherings in Europe. The event organizers set the highest standards, and only selected cars make it to the exhibition, including modern supercars and meticulously restored classic cars.
The appearance of the red AE86 during Ultrace is not a coincidence. The actor is promoting the film «Drifter,» which will be released later this year. The film, where the Toyota Corolla AE86 named Lola is the main character, is positioned as the spiritual successor to the legendary «Tokyo Drift.»
