From August 31, 2026, trams in Gdańsk will again run through the renovated Hucisko junction and in front of the main railway station Gdańsk Główny. The completion of the works will change public transport routes in the city center.
After summer renovations, Węzeł Hucisko is returning to normal operation. It is one of the key transport hubs in Gdańsk: during peak hours, dozens of trams pass through it every hour. As part of the reconstruction, the tram tracks, switches, and overhead line have been updated.
What will change from August 31
The lines 2, 3, 4, and 7 will return to their regular routes. For passengers, this means fewer detours and more convenient connections between the main train station, Śródmieście, and other districts of the city.
At the same time, the schedule of several lines will be adjusted. For example, for line 2, part of the morning trips during peak hours will be allocated to a separate line 4.
The Hucisko repair completes an important stage of work
The reconstruction of Hucisko began in the summer of 2026. The works affected not only the tram tracks but also the overhead contact line and adjacent infrastructure areas. City authorities noted that the modernization should enhance the safety and comfort of travel, as well as reduce the need for emergency and temporary repairs.
Important: The completion of the Hucisko repairs does not mean the end of all road and transport works in the center of Gdańsk — separate changes in public transport are ongoing due to other repairs.
