Residents of Tricity, Gdańsk County, and other locations in the Pomeranian Voivodeship may hear alarm sirens on July 21 and 22. The sound signals will be activated as part of the nationwide ALARM 26 population alert system exercises.
The authorities emphasize that the sirens will not indicate a real threat — this is only a test of the system for warning residents about potential dangers from the air. The exercises are organized by the Ministry of Interior and Administration of Poland.
Sirens may sound between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, however, they will not operate throughout the entire day. Each gmina will independently determine the time for activating the signals within the established interval.
During the exercises, residents will hear two official alarm signals for the civilian population. The first will indicate a warning announcement — a modulated sound of a siren that will rise and fall over three minutes.
