In Poland this week, speed control will be intensified: drivers can expect mass checks

From August 3 to 9, an operation called Speed will take place in the countries of the European road police network Roadpol. Police will actively check drivers for speeding. Poland will also join the campaign, but the Polish police will choose the day for nationwide intensified checks on their own

For exceeding the speed limit in Poland, one can receive a fine of up to 5000 zlotys and up to 15 penalty points. If a driver exceeds the speed limit by more than 50 km/h in an urban area, as well as on certain roads outside of it, their license may be revoked for three months.

Do końca roku Roadpol przeprowadzi jeszcze cztery międzynarodowe operacje:

  • September 16–22 — Roadpol Safety Days: monitoring and promoting safe behavior on the roads
  • October 5–11 — Focus on the Road: combating the use of phones while driving
  • November 16–22 — Truck&Bus Operations: inspections of trucks and buses
  • December 14–20 — Alcohol&Drugs: sobriety control for drivers

The main goal of these operations is to reduce the number of traffic accidents and enhance safety on European roads
