In Gdynia, you can now order a book or audiobook from the library by phone or online and have it delivered right to your home. The new service has already been launched and is intended for elderly people and individuals with disabilities.
To use the service, you need to have a Kartę do Kultury or a Karta mieszkańca Gdyni.
As noted by the Deputy Director of the Gdynia Library, Magdalena Krusińska, the program was created to simplify access to library resources for those who, due to health conditions, cannot visit the library in person.
— We accept both specific requests, such as for popular science literature, and can also recommend something. If a person tells us that they love to read, we select suitable books. We already had our first visit — it was an elderly woman who used to actively use the library but stopped going out as she got older. We are glad that she was able to reach out to us again, — says Krusińska.
Applications to participate in the «Book at Home» program are accepted by phone at 58 622 44 31 or by email at dostepnosc@bibliotekagdynia.pl from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
