A 76-year-old man was arrested in Gdynia for attacking a Ukrainian woman. The police do not see a national motive.

In Gdynia, the police detained a 76-year-old Polish citizen suspected of attacking a 40-year-old Ukrainian woman. The attack occurred on Thursday on Żelazna Street.

A man attacked a woman from behind and struck her on the head with a wooden cane. The victim sustained injuries. After the attack, her face and clothes were covered in blood

The perpetrator fled the scene of the incident. The police apprehended him a few days later

The case is being investigated by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Gdynia. The investigation is underway regarding the harm caused to a woman’s health. So far, investigators have not found any signs that the attack was related to the victim’s nationality.

“At the moment, the collected materials do not indicate that the incident was a crime motivated by national hatred,” the prosecutor's office reported

The investigation is ongoing.
