The initiative was launched by a Belarusian living in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Like many others, he is waiting for a decision on his residence permit and assumes that the wait could stretch for years. According to him, the problem is not with one specific case, but with the system as a whole: long processing times, stalled cases, complicated procedures, and overloaded offices. Instead of complaints, he decided to propose solutions — and prepared three documents addressed to different authorities.
What is this initiative?

1️⃣ Petition to the Voivode (local level)
It proposes:
▪️ to increase the number of employees
▪️ to create transparent statistics on cases
▪️ to monitor «stuck» applications
▪️ to simplify the appointment for biometrics
▪️ to require fewer documents that are already in state registers
2️⃣ Petition to the Sejm (changes to laws)
It proposes:
▪️ that the lack of biometrics should not delay the consideration
▪️ to simplify the process of obtaining repeated residence permits
▪️ to ease procedures for entrepreneurs and specialists
▪️ to create specific simplifications for children
▪️ to guarantee the legality of stay while awaiting a decision
3️⃣ Letter to the ministry and UdSC (digitization)
It proposes:
▪️ to consolidate various government databases
▪️ to reduce manual data entry
▪️ to speed up case processing
▪️ to develop digital tools for employees
▪️ to consider the use of AI
▪️ to make case status more accessible online

At the same time, the list of signatories is not planned to be published publicly — the data will only be passed on to the recipients of the appeals.
Anyone can sign — it is not necessary to have a residence permit case. The initiative is not directed against specific inspectors or offices — it is about an attempt to improve the system as a whole.
