In Gdynia, police chased a Ukrainian man — he was drunk

A nighttime check on the road in Gdynia ended with a chase and the arrest of a 44-year-old Ukrainian citizen. According to the police, the man was drunk, attacked the officers, and attempted to escape. He was found and arrested a few hours later.

The incident occurred on Saturday around 2:00 AM. A driver called the police after noticing a Peugeot that was driving dangerously through the city. According to him, the driver’s behavior indicated alcohol intoxication.

The police quickly located the car at a gas station on Hutnicza Street. When they began the check, the driver refused to comply. Instead, he suddenly took off and tried to flee.

During the attempt to stop the vehicle, the man pushed the police officers. As a result, they sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital for examination. An investigative team was dispatched to the scene.

Later, around 11:30 AM, the suspect was arrested by criminal police officers. The investigation confirmed that he was driving under the influence.

The court has already imposed preventive measures: police supervision, a monetary bail, and a ban on leaving the country. The final decision will be made by the court.
