In the center of Gdańsk, foreigners attacked a Norwegian citizen with a knife — suspects detained at the airport

Four Swedish citizens have been detained at Gdańsk airport on suspicion of a brutal robbery against a Norwegian citizen. The incident occurred on the night of May 6 to 7 in the city center.

According to the investigation, the Norwegian was out with a friend at clubs, where he met a group of Swedes. After leaving the establishment, the men allegedly attacked him, threatening him with a knife and using force. The victim was forced to hand over his bank card, PIN code, and mobile phone.

The perpetrators withdrew and spent several thousand Norwegian kroner from the account. After that, they continued to use the stolen card to pay for purchases. The suspects were detained at Gdańsk airport while waiting for a flight to Gothenburg.

All four have been charged with robbery involving a knife.

— The accused, using pushes and a scuffle, as well as threatening with a knife, took possession of a phone worth 2,800 zlotys and a bank card. They then forced the victim to withdraw 4,700 Norwegian kroner from an ATM and to provide the PIN code, — said Mariusz Dusiński from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Gdańsk.

The court has ordered a three-month detention for all suspects. They face up to 20 years in prison.
