Szpital na Zaspie przeciwko protestom antyaborcyjnym: „Kiedy podczas takiej procedury nazywają mnie mordercą, wpływa to na moją pracę”

The St. Wojciech Hospital in Gdańsk has spoken out against anti-abortion protests outside its building. The managing company Copernicus stated that it does not allow intimidation of patients and staff and the spread of false information. Since December, pro-life supporters have held demonstrations several times in front of the hospital.

The company emphasized that the information spread by the protesters is not true. In particular, potassium chloride is not used in the hospital, and the «dramatic descriptions» were called a manipulation aimed at intimidation.

Doctors note that the protests hinder the operation of the institution and affect patients.
— The demonstrations directly complicate the work of the hospital and the recovery process, — says Maciej Socha, head of the obstetrics and gynecology department.

He reminded that abortion is permitted by Polish law and is carried out within the framework of guaranteed medical care.
— When I am called a murderer during such a procedure, it affects my work, — the doctor noted.

According to him, the hospital cannot prohibit the demonstrations: the area remains open, and the protests are held legally.
