Gdańsk
Gdańsk remains one of the most «friendly» cities in the region for outdoor enthusiasts. The city has divided picnic areas into two types: those with ready-made infrastructure and open spaces for self-organized leisure.
Places with stationary grills
For those who do not want to bring their own equipment, stationary grills are available in popular recreational areas:
- Podleśna Polana (Wrzeszcz Górny) — one of the most recognizable places, surrounded by forest
- St. Barbara's Park (City Center) — an option for those who want to combine a walk and a barbecue in an urban environment
- Wronia Górka (Aniołki) — a peaceful location with a panoramic view of the city
- Brzeźno (ul. Gdańska/PCK) — a seaside area with equipped playgrounds

Your grill — only in designated areas
Residents and visitors of the city can use their own grills in specially designated areas

Building large open fires in Gdańsk is only permitted in Reagan Park and exclusively upon prior application to GZDiZ (gzdiz@gdansk.gda.pl) no later than 7 days in advance.
Gdynia
Gdynia is betting on organization. Popular picnic areas here operate on an online booking system, which helps avoid chaos on holidays.
Locations by prior reservation
- Polanka Redłowska — najbardziej pożądany obszar z widokiem na morze, wyposażony w pięć miejsc do grillowania i ognisk
- Osada Rybacka (entrance No. 4) — a rare opportunity to light a fire almost on the beach
- Park Kolibki — a green area on the border with Sopot
- Leśna Polana i ul. Rybaków — bardziej ustronne miejsca
Alternative places without reservation
W Gdyni znajdują się również legalne miejsca na grillowanie, gdzie nie jest potrzebna rezerwacja:
- Kiloński Park (Chylonia)
- Iryna Kwiatkowska Square (Obłuże)
- areas on Turkusowa and Sakowicza streets.
At the same time, strict rules apply: disposable grills placed directly on the grass are prohibited. Only stable structures with legs that prevent heat contact with the ground are allowed.
Sopot
Sopot remains the most regulated city in the Tricity area. There is a complete ban on lighting fires outside of the specially designated zone.
The only permitted place is Sopockie Błonia. This is a modern recreational area equipped for grilling. Any attempts to light a fire on the beach or in parks, including the Northern Park, are considered a violation of the rules and may result in a fine.
Five rules for safe grilling
To ensure that the picnic does not end with a fine or a call to the city guard, it is enough to follow basic rules:
- Open flames are strictly prohibited in forest areas
- Beaches are regulated by the Maritime Administration and require a separate permit
- Coals must be completely extinguished before leaving
- Trash must be taken with you
- There is a ban on alcohol consumption in public places outside of specially designated areas
