Those who enjoy lighting fires in unauthorized places, riding quad bikes in the forest, and taking others’ firewood should be especially cautious. A patrol will be on duty in the Pomeranian forests.
Forest guard patrols, in cooperation with the police, border guard, and hunting inspectors, will operate from April 29 to May 8.
— During this period, the highest number of illegal fire incidents is recorded, and the spring weather only increases the risk of serious consequences. Additionally, citizens often report vehicles entering forest areas, — notes Łukasz Plonus from the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Gdańsk.
According to foresters, similar measures last year resulted in 250 additional outings and operational interventions on-site.
