What will appear
The redevelopment will primarily affect the area of the former open-air swimming pools. A new recreational space of over 24,000 sq. m is planned to be created here.
The project includes:
- playground;
- sensory path;
- new pedestrian paths and squares;
- lighting;
- bicycle path;
- elements of small architecture;
- new plantings of trees and shrubs.
Designers should preserve existing trees and natural habitats as much as possible
They will also update the infrastructure
A reconstruction of part of Ejsmonda Street, the parking lot, and the bus terminal is planned. There will also be a building with restrooms for visitors and social facilities for bus drivers
A separate renovation of the staircase leading from Polanka to the beach is planned
The city emphasizes that it is important to preserve the natural character of the area during the renovation. After signing the contract, the designer will have 10 months to prepare the documentation and obtain the necessary approvals.
