Prosecutor extends investigation and summons President Nawrocki for questioning again: the case regarding the apartment in Gdańsk is dragging on — there is still no response

The District Prosecutor’s Office in Gdańsk has extended the investigation into the free use of apartments owned by the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk until August 24. A second letter has also been sent to the Chancellery of the President of Poland regarding the scheduling of an interrogation for Karol Nawrocki.

As Prosecutor Mariusz Dusiński reported, there has been no response to the first letter sent in March.

— So far, the Chancellery of the President of Poland has not responded or contacted the prosecutor’s office regarding this matter, which is why on May 18, the prosecutor’s office sent a follow-up letter requesting to specify a convenient date and place for the interrogation of Karol Nawrocki as a witness. The letter was delivered on May 20. The prosecutor’s office is now awaiting a response, — explained Dusiński.

According to «Zawsze Pomorze,» representatives of the Chancellery claim that the president is ready to testify and insists that he has nothing to hide in this matter.

The investigation concerns suspicions of abuse of power by individuals managing the museum, manifested in the provision of free accommodation in rooms and apartments from 2017 to 2024. One of the episodes under consideration is Nawrocki’s stay during the period when he was in charge of the institution.
