From the end of June, traffic will be restricted in the center of Gdańsk — what you need to know

Starting from June 29, an expanded Limited Access Zone (SOD) will be introduced in Gdańsk. It will be in effect until August 30, 2026.

Streets included in the summer SOD:

Szeroka, Pańska, Podmurze, Świętojańska, Szklary, Lawendowa, Słomiana, Grobla II, Grobla III, Grobla IV, Minogi, Tobiasza, U Furty, Tandeta, Tokarska, Warzywnicza, Zaułek Zachariasza Zappio, Różana, Szpitalna, Pachołów, Targ Rybny, Plac Dominikański, Zbytki (from ul. Bogusławskiego), Słodowników, Ławnicza, Pocztowa, as well as Sukiennicza (from ul. Dylinki to Kanał Raduni).

Who can enter

Entry and parking are allowed only with a free IGM pass, which is issued by the city road management.

It can be obtained by: residents of houses in the zone, as well as tenants and owners of premises in the zone

How to obtain a pass

Applications can be submitted from June 1 to August 30, 2026:

  • in person at the office in Gdańsk (can be obtained immediately)
  • by mail
  • by e-mail or through the electronic system

Who can drive without a pass

Without an IGM, the following can enter: taxis and public transport, police, ambulances and utility services, bicycles and mopeds, hotel guests (with a reservation), some delivery services (at certain hours and up to 3.5 tons).

Additionally

A summer pass is not needed for those who already have a year-round IGM — it is valid in summer as well.
