On Thursday (June 4), Poland celebrates the holiday Boże Ciało — large stores and shopping centers will be closed. In connection with this, some retail chains are extending their hours in advance so that customers can prepare for the long weekend.
On Wednesday, June 3, most Lidl stores will be open until 11:00 PM instead of the usual 10:00 PM. This will give customers extra time to prepare for the weekend. On June 5 and 6, the chain will return to its standard schedule.
The Dino chain is also extending its hours for just one day — June 3: stores will be open until 11:00 PM instead of 10:30 PM.
The most flexible schedule has been introduced by Biedronka: from June 2 to June 6, stores will be open until 11:30 PM. An exception will be made on June 4 — on this day, except for locations at train stations, stores will be closed. On the other days, the extended hours will allow customers to shop comfortably both before the holiday and during the long weekend.
The Aldi chain is also extending its hours until 11:00 PM from June 3 to June 6, but the changes will not affect all stores.
There is currently no official information regarding schedule changes for other chains. It is presumed that Auchan, Carrefour, Delikatesy Centrum, Netto, and Polomarket will operate on a standard schedule before and after the holiday, while remaining closed on June 4.
